Summer Wind is an older pattern (2004) I  forgot I had until one of my team members (Sue) saw it and wanted to test it.   

Here is a cute story about how Miss Rosie named this quilt pattern.  She designed and pieced the quilt in the summer.  She was also a baseball fan and was finishing her quilt while listening to the games.  One of the “priceless” MasterCard commericals is about going to a baseball game, and “Summer Wind” by Frank Sinatra was the background music!

The quilt is just one big star and with row after row of pieced borders.  The quilt can be made smaller/larger by subtracting/adding rows or borders to the quilt top.

Sue said the pattern was easy to follow with lots of pictures and written instructions.

Block of the months (BOM’s) are a great way to make a beautiful large or intricate quilt while spreading the payments over many months, and receive a fun surprise in the mail each month!BACK TO NATURE  by Wing and a Prayer Design. The pattern was designed by Toni Kay Steere & Jenny Foltz of Wing and a Prayer. The center medallion section measures 24 1/2″ when completed.

Back to Nature is a 6 month Block of the Month – starting June 2010.

**Price for each month is $30.00 plus shipping per month.
Or.. You can purchase you kit for a one time cost: $180.00 plus shipping (includes pattern; fabric for top, border & binding).
You will receive generous cuts of fabric to make the blocks each month.**Each month (around the 20th of the month) you’ll receive kits that include fabric and patterns to make your blocks. Instructions for this quilt are written using basic quilting tools and skills. 

Monthly mailing schedule:
June     – blocks 1 & 2
July      – blocks 3 & 4
August - blocks 5 & 6
Sept     – blocks 7 & 8
Oct       - block 9 A & B (center medallion section)
Nov      – Finishing kit consisting of: four corner blocks, setting portion (flying geese, zig-zag geese & log cabin setting), outer border, binding.

Blocks 1-8 will be 12 1/2″ before they are sewn into the quilt. The four Block 10’s will measure 9 1/2″. Block 9 part A measures 13 1/4″, with corners of 18 1/2″. When completed with borders, the center medallion block measures 24 1/2″.  During quilt assembly you will be instructed to trim creating a bias edge. We highly suggest you use the fusible interfacing as instructed

**You will be put on automatic shipment with the blocks being mailed the third week of each month. Your credit card will be invoiced monthly at the time of shipment. This is a six month commitment with no cancellations.

We also have a Quilt Insurance Package: 13 fat 1/8’s for $14.95 plus shipping.  This gives you a little added security in case you make a wrong cut.

From In The Beginning Fabrics by Jason Yentor.

There are new prints with this collection that coordinate with all Wintergraphix fabrics! Creating things for the holidays is a funny business. He started designing the projects for this year and the fabrics line, Wintergraphix 3 in August of 2009. He worked on it through fall, and though winter and finished it this spring. Sometimes it was hard for him to get motivated when the sun was shining brightly and beautiful flowers were everywhere. But the winter spirit pushed through, and he was very excited about the quilt projects in this book Holiday Project Book 2 and the fabrics they are made from. He tried to give each project a contemporary look, but with a traditional base that will still look good many years from now. He hopes you enjoy making these projects and that you love how they look in your home.

The dramatic points on these large stars make this quilt a show-stopper.  This quilt would be beautiful hanging in your dining room with a matching  Stars of Winter table runner decorating your table and wowing your guests.
