Take a quick tour of my garden
and see what’s blossoming now:
Bunny sitting!
Nobody informed this bunny who was sitting in the yard that there are three beagles in the house!
Lucky for him (her) - they were busy eating supper.
I wish I had “Smell-o-vision”
…..to share with you because when I walk around my garden I can smell the fragrances from my flowering bushes and flowers. I wish I could add “smell” to these pictures!
I don’t know what this one is called – but it’s the first one to bloom in my yard. When I sit at my dinning room table the fragrance is so sweet and strong it just wonderful.

This is my all time favorite - Lilac’s. The bush is very old. It came from my SIL’s mother who brought if from her winter home to her summer cottage back in the 1970’s. If never bloomed at their house so they gave me a piece of it 3 years ago. I put it in a warm sunny spot and wow! it’s going crazy!!

Signs of Spring!
The ice has started to melt on our lake and it looks like a river running though it!
Alive and doing great!
Last year the Medina Quilt Guild gave me this beautiful Aloe Plant. At that time, I wasn’t sure if it would survive the trip from Texas to Michigan because of the freezing temperatures. When I got it the poor thing was limp, brown and looked like it had been beat up.
It’s been in my north window since then and look at it today -
Burrrrr….
I hope this is the coldest it gets this winter!
It was the kind of morning where the dogs didn’t want to go outside and the birds were as fluffy as I ever saw them! I used this picture as the screen saver on my computer and when it’s blown up to that size I think I can see the little Chickadee shivering!
and…. the cardinals didn’t say in the feeder very long!
THINK SPRING!!
Happy first day of WINTER!
Did I mention that here in West Michigan it started snowing about Thanksgiving! So in honor of this special holiday I thought I would share a this picture to help remind me that Spring is only 3 months away!
Doesn’t everyone love a good blizzard!
Send me your pictures and lets see your blizzard!
and looking our my front door – notice the yard stick in the back, it’s over 30″!
more lake effect snow………..help needed!
Saturday morning I looked out my front door and saw this small amount of snow on my front porch. Isn’t it pretty piled up on my bird house? We were under a “Snow Warning” sooo… I thought if I would go out and shovel a few times during the day I could keep up with the falling snow.
When I went outside to shovel first thing in the morning I was astounded by the amount of snow that had fallen during the night! This is the kind of snow that will not make a snowman because it’s too fluffy!
Here was the challenge: dig out my car! It didn’t look like that much snow so I thought I could do it all my by self.
There was so much snow I couldn’t move it with the shovel and had to get some recruits to help me clean up the driveway. My son David and his family came to my rescue! They thought I was just being a baby and didn’t want to shovel – ha! When they got there they were quite surprised – Kyle said they never get that much snowfall at once!
That’s my grandson Kyle with the shovel. Thank you Kyle!
More help was needed and my son David used the snow blower!
This is grandson Ryan, taking a break from shoveling to play with Girlie Girl.
Thank you Ryan for your help too!
Here’s my neighbors:
Jerry taking a break from shoveling his driveway
and Lynda had her hands full with shoveling a path to get to their house!
My own personal snow globe:
This is Polly, having fun frolicking in the snow
It snowed all day Saturday and I never did keep up with the snow shoveling.
Today - it’s a new beautiful day! Happy shoveling!!
