by Grandson Hayden and Granny!
Hayden wanted a warm and fuzzy quilt to cuddle with this winter. He asked me if I would help him make one. WOW!! would I ever! Finally one of the kids wanted to learn to quilt.
He came over to my house and we discussed the colors he wanted to use in his quilt. Hayden wanted bright colors and a blue back. I got my stash out and let him go though it and he picked out 12 fabrics to use.

I taught him how to cut, pin and sew:

It took us 4 hours from start to finish and it was a lot of fun according to Hayden! Here is the back side of his quilt:

AND…… the finished quilt:

At our monthly quilt guild meeting (PALS), the board members taught mini classes called “Give-Aways & Gotta-Haves” for gifts to give away or keep for ourselves! These fabric based gifts were quick to make and have on hand as Christmas, birthday, hostess, etc. gifts. Not only was this a fun group activity, but also great ways to way to use up the stash of fabric and notions we all have.
Pals members rotated in small groups from table to table every 10 - 15 minutes to learn each new gift project idea.

It was so much fun!
Here are some photos from that night:

Barnyard Buddies by Amy Bradley from Moda.
In Barnyard Buddies Cotton or Barnyard Buddies Flannel!
You deserve to have fun, and Barnyard Buddies is a romp in the field, a frolic on the farm, a play in the hay. If you visited her studio in the past six months you are likely to overhear “the cow goes moo” and “the horse goes neigh”. No, she hasn’t completely lost it, she has a new granddaughter and will do anything to get her to smile. She will draw anything to get you to smile and Barnyard Buddies is the spirited result. Use Barnyard Buddies to play in your own way, or use my coordinating patterns Twelve Tractors and Baa Baa Bedtime.

Sometimes when you are angry with someone,
it helps to sit down
take a moment to cool off,
and think about the problem.

In the spring time, my mornings were the sun rising in pink colors.
But this time of year, the mornings are in gorgeous orange colors.
Doesn’t this sunrise just make you want start quilting something, cut some fabrics, or just sit and dream about the what colors you can play with!

The first time I made a pillowcase with this pattern I said “WOW – it was sooo easy”!
I can’t wait to teach the grandkids how to make one.
