JDRF Ride to Cure Diabetes
Melanie Williamson (my daughter and Abbi May’s Mother on left) is riding on August 29, 2009 at Killington.

This will be her third year riding with the JDRF West Michigan team. She began my journey with her dear friend Amy whose husband has Type 1 diabetes in Death Valley, CA. Having been so inspired by the courage of each team member her husband Scott joined them for our second year in Death Valley and embarked on his life changing experience. Between the three of them, they have raised over $20,000. Watching Bob, Nathen, Jack, Katie and so many others who have lived with this disease for so long wants to challenge herself to raise as much money as possible, so the children who are diagnosed like Sophie, Ellie, Ian and so many more do not have to live with it for their lifetime. The challenge of raising money is nothing compared to the challenges they face day to day.
Melanie now feels connected to JDRF in so many ways and want do her part to make the lives easier for all affected. With your help they can and will cure this disease! This year, she will be taking part in JDRF’s Ride to Cure Diabetes in Killington, along with hundreds of other Riders across the country, as we try to reach our goal of raising $4.5 million.
Now, more than ever, you can make a crucial difference. Melanie know times are tough any amount will be appreciated. Together, we can make the cure a reality!
