Alive and doing great!

Last year the Medina Quilt Guild gave me this beautiful Aloe Plant. At that time, I wasn’t sure if it would survive the trip from Texas to Michigan because of the freezing temperatures. When I got it the poor thing was limp, brown and looked like it had been beat up.
It’s been in my north window since then and look at it today -

 ch0806Wild Flowers by Mickey DepreFinished size: 22 1/2″ x 35 1/2″

Mickey has done it again with her delightfully charming Wild Flowers quilt. It’s so cute! This wonderful little quilt is created by making a pieced background and then appliquéing stems, leaves, and three wild flowers onto this background. Although it’s designed to be used with fabric charm-packs, scraps, fat-quarters, or other yardage may be used instead.  The fabrics use in this quilt are Fresh Squeezed from Moda.

POPSICLE TREAT by ALex Anderson

Finished size: 46 1/2″ x 46 1/2″

popsicle

Fun, cute, and simply delicious here’s another darling quilt from Alex Anderson! Alex  selected a fabric charm pack in whimsical, happy designs (she purchased two, so that she could have more flexibility in fabric selection). From these 5″ squares, Alex selected her popsicles and sashing squares. Then she chose additional yardage for her quilt’s background, sashing, border, and binding.

Charm Parade by Cindy WiensFinished size: 42 1/2″ x 42 1/2″

rocket scientist fabricAny fabric pack collection will work well with this simple little quilt designed by Cindy Wiens. The fabric selection determines the focus of this quilt. This quilt’s design lends itself to featuring a theme fabric. Thus, it can be a baby quilt, a sports quilt, a Christmas quilt, a Halloween quilt, a flower quilt, a food/drink quilt, or any other favorite subject. Charm Parade is easy to piece and quick to make.
