Burrrrr….
I hope this is the coldest it gets this winter!
It was the kind of morning where the dogs didn’t want to go outside and the birds were as fluffy as I ever saw them! I used this picture as the screen saver on my computer and when it’s blown up to that size I think I can see the little Chickadee shivering!
and…. the cardinals didn’t say in the feeder very long!
THINK SPRING!!
Show & Tell: Loraine – Boy oh Boy Quilt
Loraine said she finished the quilt last Sunday, Jan 11th. and was probably the quickest she ever completed a project. She ordered the kit on Sunday the 4th, received it on Wed, the 7th, cut it out that night and finished it Sunday the 11th. (Plus didn’t get a chance to touch it on that Friday since because she had grandkids for the day)!! It turned out great, and she already gave it as gift.
WTG – Loraine – very cool quilt!!

The description of this fabric group:
Chez Moi has gone uptown. A little more fashion and a bolder palette makes this the most exciting group yet from the watercolor genius of Chez Moi. Swanky is chic and sophisticated with a flare for the dramatic. Bold design and sweet citrus colors are combined to create a plus collection of graphic prints that would suit even the savviest of connoisseurs. ![]()
I received the precuts yesterday and WOW!!!! – did these make my day. It was like looking at my spring garden, the colors were soft sherbert with beautiful flowers, paisleys, dots and a print I haven’t figured out a name for it yet! A picture will never give you the warm and sunny feeling I got when I fondled these fabrics and forgot all about the cold and snow here.
Here’s a peek at these fabrics:

“As Seen In” Quilts & More Winter 2007 SPICE IT UP
Spice It Up by Kathleen Williams. – Pages: 90 – 91 RATED: VERY EASY and fun!!!! Finished size: 61 1/2″ x 79 3/4″

Try this quilt pattern in fabrics from Abbi May’s. It shows off big bold prints.
See below for the large prints I choose from Free Spirit collection, Cloe’s Imagination by Tina Givens. They were perfect for my quilt project!

Big blocks

Sashing and squares
The big blocks are 14 1/2″ square and the sashing is 4 1/2″ wide – perfect for this fabric! From cutting to piecing, I made this quilt top in 5 hours! It was so easy – it used 4 fabrics and one bobbin! The blocks are sewn together first in rows and then the rows are sewn together to make the top.
Kits Available here for the Spice It Up pattern includes the fabric in my quilt
or I can kit any fabrics from my shop.

I got the quilt layered and am going to quilt it today in a very large stipple.
This is the fabric I’m using on the back:
