Easy Project: Table Runners or Placemats

As usual {sigh} - I’m behind on my shopping and needed a gift for a few favorite friends.  My sister was coming over and I enlisted her help.  I showed her the pattern from BOM QUILTS  and with a few modications we came up with a table runner.  We choose the jelly roll from Christmas Past.  We lined strips up on the table and began sewing them together.  She sewed, I ironed and handed her the next row of strips to sew together.  Why is it when everything is laid out on the table, in the correct order, we still sewed some strips together wrong?

We used 12 strips of fabric and cut them lenghtwise into 3 mats.  Here is our joint effort - it  was fun, fast and very easy:

On the back we wanted a more elegant fabric and used Vintage Holiday

I sure so like those placements. I wish I had some slightly larger that was made of waterproof fabric for under my dog’s dish. I am sure you have the perfect idea??

    Riley,
What a great idea! I don’t have any waterproof fabric in stock, but will keep my eyes open for fun dog prints.
